My search has led me to two choices; the Tudor Black Bay 36 and the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 in either steel or white grape. Without getting overly lengthy as to my thoughts, I will simply list my personal pros and cons for each piece. BB36: Pros: case shape lends itself better to straps than the OP. Where the BB36 has a leg up on the Rolex in the bracelet is that it features a safety clasp, similar to those found on Rolex professional models. OP36 While the Oyster bracelet on the OPs does not feature a safety clasp, it is extremely secure and I wouldn't worry about it inadvertently opening up.
The BB36 is the Tudor equivalent of the Rolex Explorer reference 124270. To suggest anything else would be nonsense. Within its own catalog, the BB36 must fend off challenges from the Pelagos and the Black Bay dive watches that split the Rolex Submariner chasers almost down the middle.
