The Panerai caliber P.4000 is a micro-rotor automatic watch movement. This movement has 31 jewels, carries a 3 day power reserve thanks to the two barrels, beats at 28,800 bph, and features a Glucydur balance with KIF anti-shock.
Officine Panerai presents the P.4000 calibre, the first automatic movement with an off-centre micro-rotor completely developed and made in the Panerai Manufacture at Neuchâtel.
The main attraction is the new Panerai P.4000 manufacture caliber, though. Not only is this the first automatic caliber fitted inside a Radiomir 1940, but it is also Panerai’s first movement with a decentralized oscillating weight – better known as a micro-rotor.
One of the most surprising calibres – apart from the outstanding P.2005/MR – is the P.4000 released two years ago. This self-winding movement comes with an off-centred micro-rotor, a component used almost exclusively to reduce overall height.
